Course Summary
This course is designed for those who are or intend to be supervisors in Food Manufacturing, Catering and Retail businesses. It provides a knowledge and understanding of food safety principles and practices relevant to supervisors who work in these areas. On completion of the course, candidates will not only understand their role in the implementation of food safety management but will also understand the importance of effective communication and staff training.

Entry Requirements
Completion of the Level 2 Award in Food Safety is recommended, or a basic working knowledge of the food industry would be acceptable.

Course Structure and Content
Section 1: Legislation
Ensures a knowledge and understanding of compliance with food safety legislation
Section 2: Good Hygiene Practices
Candidates will know and understand how to apply and monitor good hygiene practices
Section 3: Food Safety Management Procedures
Candidates will know and understand their role in the implementation of food safety management procedures
Section 4: Staff Training
Teaches the importance of staff training and communication and candidates will be able to contribute towards this
Section 5: Food Safety Auditing (Manufacturing only)
Candidates will know and understand their role within food safety audit procedures.
